Design Engineer

Introduction

This role spotlights the craftsperson who creates like a designer and codes like an engineer.

We build tools for creators and their teams. Every release is battle‑tested inside real productions, then refined in a rapid build / learn / ship loop. As the Design Engineer, you’ll span design craft and engineering rigor to turn day-one ideas into working software that pro teams rely on by day three.

Responsibilities

• Prototype at lightspeed. Partner with Product and Systems Engineers to scope, code, and ship weekly slices that derisk usability and tech unknowns. Leverage low‑/no‑code AI platforms to collapse cycle times from days to hours. Choose your weapon (IDE) and go, go, go!
• Own the frontend & design system. Stand up a resilient component library in React / Next‑js / TypeScript (Tailwind or CSS‑in‑JS), baked with accessibility, performance, and responsive design.
• Invent UI primitives for AI‑powered workflows. Make generative video, multimodal prompting, and real‑time rendering feel frictionless to creative pros.
• Integrate the stack. Connect prototypes to cloud functions, vector stores, and media pipelines with robust auth, observability, and CI/CD.
• Validate in the field. Embed with writer rooms and post‑production teams, run usability tests, instrument analytics, and turn data into crisp product calls.
• Level up the craft. Drive code review culture, automated testing, performance budgets, and mentor peers in design‑to‑dev best practices.

Qualifications

• 3 + yrs shipping production web apps (React / Next.js / Node).
• Fluency with Figma / FigJam, Storybook, and user‑centered design.
• Track record of rapid prototyping with low‑/no‑code or Gen‑AI tooling.
• Strong product sense, impeccable visual polish, pixel‑perfect CSS.
• Experience in Full-Stack Development with proficiency in backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python).
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize user delight and app performance.
• Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively in distributed teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and collaborate with stakeholders across various departments.
